1. CHILDREN HOMES:
Brotherhood Missions India established a home for destitute children in 1992.The home started functioning with 7 children in a house in the prime beach proper ty in Chennai, India. Since then, there was no looking back. At present, there are 549 children who are living in different homes run by the Brotherhood Missions. Most of them are children of lepers, gypsies, beggars, prostitutes and tsunami affected people. . The children get quality food, clothing and shelter in these homes. Most important, they are provided with 100% education .They are encouraged to pursue extra-curricular activities like music and craft according to their interest and talents. An overall development of the children is ensured in every way.

2. DAY CARE CENTRE:

Uneducated, low caste people with no regular jobs, abound in the slum areas .Moreover, these places are known for vandalism, prostitution and drugs. The women of these areas work for their daily wage during day time and hence unable to take care of their young children. To address this problem, Brotherhood mission has established Day care centres in the slum areas of Kallukotai and KPK Nagar in Chennai,India. The children who come to these centres are provided with nutritious food and free education. At present, there are 185 children in these two centers.

Brotherhood Mission believes that these down-trodden children are God's own children .So the love of God is imparted to these children by our teachers and they sing , worship and offer praises to God.

3. SCHOOL FOR CHILD LABOURERS & STREET CHILDREN

Child labour is an evil so predominant in India, where children in the age group of 5 to 16 are forced to work in small factories, tea stalls, harbours, mills and railway stations. Most of them get only their daily food as their wage. Generally they are abused by the employers and are denied their fundamental rights. Brotherhood Mission, in a joint effort with the Government of Tamilnadu works for the eradication and rehabilitation of child labourers .A school for child labourers has been functioning since 1999. This school , called Transit school , takes in street children as well. Two such schools function in Taramani and Kallukuttai in Chennai. More than 1000 children benefit from this project.

4. TUITION CENTRES:

An after school education programme for village children is conducted by our tuition centers. These children hail from economically poor background and strife torn families. Brotherhood mission's teachers provide free coaching from 5 to 7 pm every evening in 77 centers throughout Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka. A total of 5489 children are benefited through this scheme in these two countries. The children are encouraged to trust in God and are taught spiritual principles and values.

5. TUITION CENTRES FOR TSUNAMI AFFECTED CHILDREN:

Brotherhood Missions established tsunami relief works by setting up tuition centres for the children who were affected by tsunami in Chidambaram, Karaikal, Tanjore. Nearly 800 children and 23 teachers are benefited by this programme. Two community centres and 14 tuition centres function exclusively for these children.

6. HOME FOR HANDICAPPED PEOPLE:

Brotherhood Mission is supporting the handicapped people of Thangachimadam, a fishermen village in South India.. After tsunami, there is no way of support for these families. Recently we witnessed the stress and suicide among these people. (two young people fell before a moving train and committed suicide). Brotherhood Missions took 15 of them under its care and placed them in the Padur rehabilitation center. The love of God and faith in Him ,brings them out of their depression . They look forward to a wholesome life in future.

7. MONTESSORI TRAINING SCHOOL FOR TSUNAMI AFFECTED STUDENTS:

Equipping the tsunami affected students with a job oriented course , so that they can fend for themselves in life ,is the motive behind setting up of the Montessori Training School for them. Free and quality education with training is provided for them. 21 students are getting trained by this programme.

Struck by the disastrous tsunami, these students need to know and believe the power of the Almighty. Along with the regular classes ,they are given basic training in praise and worship. Thus, by the time the teacher training course is over , they will be a true blessing to the society.

8. SCHOOL FOR TSUNAMI AFFECTED CHILDREN:

NEMELI is a Tsunami affected fishermen village. A school was started for the children of the fisher folks affected by the disaster last year. 100% free education is provided for these children. The school caters to 70 children with 2 teachers.
